Use this tool to teach your students to identify the important ideas in a lesson. Have your students highlight what they think are the main ideas in a lesson, and then have them turn on the "Main Ideas" feature provided by TCI, to compare and learn.
The color palette helps you keep your highlighting organized: for example, vocabulary words can be highlighted in one color with key details in another.

To highlight a line:

Step 1: Select a line to be highlighted using the mouse/ keyboard.

Step 2: This brings up the highlight menu. Select the highlight color from the palette provided. Select a color or click on the highlighter icon to highlight.

To remove highlight from a line:

Step 1: Hover the cursor over the highlighted line. You will see the arrow pointer changing to the pointer finger icon.

Step 2: Clicking on the line brings up the highlight menu.

Step 3: Select the "Trash" icon to remove highlighting.

To change the highlight color:

Step 1: Hover the cursor over the highlighted line. You will see the arrow pointer changing to the pointer finger icon.

Step 2: Clicking on the line brings up the highlight menu.

Step 3: Select a different color from the palette to change the highlight color.

To display/hide highlighted text:

The "Highlighter" icon on the toolbar turns dark when text highlights are being displayed. Click on this icon to hide/show highlights.
